Virág Gyurkovics was born in 1987 in Subotica. She began her career as a journalist in 2009 at the Vajdaság Ma news portal. Since 2012 she worked as a journalist for the Hét Nap weekly, and since 2014 she edited the culture section. Since 2017 she has been working as a freelance journalist, publishing her journalistic and investigative articles on the online platforms of Átlátszó, Átlátszó Erdély, KRIK, CINS, Autonómia, Dunszt and Napunk, among others, as well as in the columns of the Családi Kör weekly. In February 2023, she launched the Átlátszó Vajdaság portal (Transparent Vojvodina). Virág Gyurkovics is a member of the Independent Journalists’ Association of Vojvodina (NDNV).
